Manufactured from an 11-13% silicon alloy and treated with T6 heat treatment, Hypatec pistons offer superior strength compared to many other pistons on the market. Each piston is precisely crafted using state-of-the-art CAD/CNC diamond-tipped machinery, ensuring they can withstand the severe loads typical of today's high-performance engines.

The high silicon alloy used in Hypatec pistons provides significant strength and resistance to scuffing and seizure. Silicon acts as small insulators, repelling the heat generated in the combustion chamber. This allows the combustion process to be more efficient, keeping the combustion chamber hot while the piston remains cooler. This feature is particularly beneficial for Holden 304 VN engine upgrades.

Hypatec's T6 heat treatment process involves heating the piston to 500°C for nine hours before water quenching it to form a single-phase alloy. The second stage heats the piston to 180°C for ten hours, followed by air cooling. This process results in the formation of CuAI2 crystals, which enhance the alloy's strength.
