These ARP LS Main Studs are a true upgrade and a must when running high power output or serious RPM. Benefits of upgrading & fitting LS main studs help eliminate main cap walk/fretting and protect the threads in your engine block. When fitting the main studs over the use of bolts, the threads in the block are not worked like when tensioning up a bolt, the work is done on the opposite end of the stud. The LS1 main studs kit are made from 8740 chromoly steel and heat-treated in-house to 190,000 psi tensile-strength rating. The precision J-form threads are rolled after heat-treat for much stronger threads than the competition. These LS Main studs come complete with hardened parallel-ground washers and high-quality nuts.
