One small downside to the LS engines design is the single screw oil pickup tube which has been known to result in poor sealing of the O'ring seal, which results in causing issues with oil pressure and starvation. 
This brace is the solution to that problem! By making using of the un-used bolt hole to evenly clamp both sides of the brace around the tube, eliminating movement of the tube so there is no oil leaks or cavitation issues.
