The Stage 2 XY GT camshaft is the perfect all-round performance cam for the gentleman muscle car or Falcon GT owner. This cam has been dyno proven to deliver a super-flat torque curve that pulls hard right through to 6500 RPM, while still maintaining excellent street manners.
Idle quality has a mild lumpy note — nothing radical — and suits the stance and attitude of a GT or classic muscle car. It sounds right at idle, looks right at shows, and isn’t over the top. That’s exactly why we call it Stage 2. (Our Stage 1 XY GT camshaft has a noticeably milder idle.)
We’ve personally driven with this camshaft in a manual XY GT with 3.00:1 diff gears, and it will comfortably roll through roundabouts in third gear, then drive away cleanly without needing a downshift. Throttle response is smooth off the line, strong through the mid-range pinning you to the seat! And continues pulling hard all the way to 6500 RPM when you want to lean on it.
It’s easy to live with in traffic, yet pulls like a train when asked. You’ll struggle to find a better camshaft combination that delivers strong performance, excellent drivability, and a mild lumpy idle in a Cleveland GT package.

Spacer recommendation:
Use an Edelbrock nitrile open spacer or a modified divided spacer such as ED9266 or ED9265.
Carburettor Note
Testing with the Edelbrock AVS2 650 cfm carburettor produced a slightly lower peak number but resulted in a flatter torque curve overall. Throttle response, drivability, and part-throttle control were excellent. See dyno image showing the 468 HP result.
