This popular camshaft was designed by Total Performance years ago and works well in most applications where results are best all round. This 230/230 camshaft is about as big as you want to go with a 308 with flat top pistons and shaved heads. Any more in the camshaft duration and we have found the benefits start diminishing on the downward side of the "bell curve"  Total Performance has chosen a "quick" lobe that is fast yet street frienly on the valvetrain and maintains cylinder pressure on the 308. We have found other lobes that are softer, tend to loose cylinder pressure and the results are less than desirable. 

Charactersitics: The 230/230 is on a LSA of 108 which is needed for the Holden style heads to assist with the scavange effect. This has a very noticable lumpy idle (not agressive) and power comes on strong around the 3200 rpm and pulls all the way to 6000 rpm comfortably. Other modificatons like a single plane intake, ported heads and tuned exhuast will see the rpm power to climb much higher.
